"Leftover Women"

First, I would like to say "Job Well Done" to Xiaoxin!! Her lecture has brought many thoughts and questions that still remain unanswered. The whole idea of "leftover" when referring to women is harder to digest than using the word "leftover" when talking about food!! The idea that women are considered to be "damaged goods" because she did not follow the traditional path at becoming a wife and making this her number one goal at a specific time in her life can totally ruin all chances of becoming a good wife. I asked the question of "who then are these women marrying" and wanted to know if these women would become "second wives"? I never thought of asking - who where these women targeting when considering her mate? I wanted to know a little more on the topic and of course Google has it ALL!! An article posted by CNN International explain that the term "Cougars" has definitely come into play and leftover women are now seeking younger men. Expanding the playing field for these women can still bring hope when looking for someone to settle down with. If men can marry a woman 10 years his minor, then why can't women? I really enjoyed Xiaoxin presentation and my new found knowledge of Shengnu (剩女)!!
