The article, “He Thinks, She Thinks” argues that men and women deal with their emotions differently because of science and not just social conditioning. Specifically, through neuroscience, researchers have realized that women use many different portions of their brain when doing something, where as men will only use one part of their brain at a time. Marsa, the author, addresses an observation that women are very good at multitasking, and men complete one task at a time, too. On the other hand, when tested on memory and reaction time, women and men scored equally despite their different methods. I found this article very interesting because I would have never guessed that brains actually operate differently based on gender. Not to mention, I wonder how common this pattern is. Is every women using more areas of her brain than every man or is the trend not as striking, but still substantial? Also, how different are men and women according to scientific studies, such as this one?
